How NOL8 works

The payload enters the path. It passes through NOL8, where inspection happens inline. There is no separate processing round trip to inspect the content before it continues to its destination.

Every pattern is matched in one pass. The whole rule set, 1 pattern or 8,000, evaluated at once in dedicated hardware. No ordering, no early exit, no second read.

The verdict acts in the same pass. Allow, redact, route or block, per rule, per agent, per role, before the model or tool sees it. Same input, same verdict, every time.

The verdict goes on the record. Off the path, so enforcement never waits on a write. An audit question becomes a query, not a reconstruction.
